What Does Junk Removal Cost Per Cubic Yard in Raleigh?
Yard waste has published truck-tier pricing ($135–$625). General junk is priced per item or per cleanout package. Here's the math both ways.
Service-call minimum
Most jobs $150–$450
Per-cubic-yard pricing is a common way contractors and project managers compare junk-removal quotes. The answer in Raleigh depends on what you're hauling — yard waste has the cleanest per-yard math, while general junk is priced by item or by cleanout package.
Our truck cargo bed holds about 9.5 cubic yards flush-loaded (~14 cubic yards strapped/heaped). For yard waste specifically, we publish truck-fraction tiers from $135 (quarter) to $625 (full, upper end). For mixed household junk and construction debris, you'll get the most accurate comparison by adding up the line items or pricing the cleanout package.

What Affects Your Price
Yard waste is the only published truck-tier in our system
For branches, brush, leaves, and storm debris, we publish four truck-fraction tiers in our pricing system: $135 (quarter), $225–$325 (half), $325–$425 (three-quarter), $475–$625 (full). General household junk doesn't use those tiers — it's priced per item or per cleanout package, then floored at the $95 service-call minimum.
Cubic-yard estimating
1 cubic yard ≈ 3 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft. A small loveseat is roughly 1 yard. A standard 3-seat couch is about 1.5 yards. A queen mattress + box spring is ~2 yards. A full kitchen of appliances is ~4 yards.
Why we don't use per-yard rates for mixed junk
Mixed household junk takes wildly different time/effort to handle depending on items (a couch is one piece; 60 boxes of stuff is sixty pieces). Per-item pricing reflects actual handling cost, then the $95 floor keeps small jobs viable. Some Raleigh competitors quote a fake low per-yard rate then surcharge — our way avoids that.
Weight surcharges
Concrete, brick, tile, and dirt come with weight-based add-ons because of tipping fees at Wake County transfer stations. Pool Deck for instance is priced at $65/cubic yard. For heavy demolition debris, the cleanout package is usually the cleanest option.

What does junk removal cost per cubic yard in Raleigh?
For yard waste, our published rate is $135 for ~2.5 yd³ (a quarter truck) up to $625 for ~9.5 yd³ (a full truck). For mixed household junk, we don't price per-yard — we sum per-item line items with a $95 service-call floor, or use cleanout packages for full-room jobs.
How many cubic yards is a full truck?
Our truck cargo bed holds about 9.5 cubic yards flush-loaded and ~14 cubic yards strapped/heaped. Most Triangle haulers run similar-size box trucks; specific dimensions vary 8–12 yards.
Is per-yard or per-item pricing cheaper?
For yard waste specifically, the published truck-tier pricing is straightforward. For mixed household junk, per-item pricing is usually cheaper if you have few items, while cleanout packages (1-car garage $175, 2-BR apt $480+) are cheaper for full-space jobs. Send photos and we'll quote both ways.
How do I estimate cubic yards for my Raleigh junk removal job?
1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet (3 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft). Visualize a small refrigerator-size cube. A couch is ~1.5 yards; a queen mattress is ~2 yards; a full sectional is ~3 yards. Send us photos and we'll estimate from those.
